Description
The Flame Skimmer (Libellula saturata) is a brightly colored dragonfly that is native to the western United States. Its preferred habitat is near streams, ponds, creeks, and water. They feed on aquatic insects, larvae, freshwater shrimp, tadpoles and small fish, as well as on moths, flies, and ants. They forage while in flight or while perched on a twig.
